Green Gables English Plus (GGEP)

GGEP is an English language school founded by Gwen Andrews in 2011.
Gwens Andrews is originally from Canada. She spent a few years working as an ESL teacher in many countries and eventually settled in Watari a month before the March 2011 tsunami.
She initially worked as an ALT and simultaneously created GGEP.
At first, she taught a few students at her home. In 2014 she built a log house, which is where she now teaches her classes.
At present, about fifty students aged from 4 to 84 from Watari, Okuma, Iwanuma and Shibata are enrolled at GGEP.
